SEP up 28-0 HALFTIME: Southeast Polk 21, Johnston 0 Johnston needs an answer now, or this could get ugly. A stark contrast to the first half where Johnston was in the backfield all the time. They were getting push up front on virtually every play. The most noticeable thing on that series was just how dominant the SEP offensive line was. QB Connor Moberly took a shot and hit Carson Robbins, who hauled in a diving catch in good coverage for a 40-yard gain. The highlight of the drive was the opening play of the half, though. They drove down the field 80-yards on nine plays and Abu Sama capped the drive with a 10-yard touchdown, his third score of the night. The Rams came out of the locker room and made quick work of the Johnston defense. Rams take over at the Johnston 43-yard line up 28-0. Rams DB Cole Rogers hopped in front of the route and picked the ball off. Johnston sophomore QB Will Nuss tried to fit the ball in a small window and it backfired. Rams up 35-0 with a minute left in the half. The Johnston linebackers bit so hard and left Robbins wide open in the end zone on a post route. The play was set up with a play action to Abu Sama. The speedy WR did the rest, outrunning the entire Rams defense for a 79-yard score, with about 69 of those yards coming after the catch. They finally hit a big play when Will Nuss hit Tatum Fox on a 10-yard dig. Rams have the ball at their own 35 to start the final frame. Luckily for the Dragons, they got a fourth-down stop inside their own 10, so they dodged a bullet with the pick, though SEP was able to take 2:14 of precious time off the clock. The Bulldogs beat West Branch, 48-17, in the first game, then the Falcons topped Underwood, 47-7, in the second game.
